How to Sync the Local Windows Password After Changing Your OSU Password (Windows)

Overview

After changing your password on my.osu.edu your ASC devices will not get the change unless you are:

  • On an ASC network wired connection.
  • On certificate based osuwireless.
    • Most machines reimaged since 2019 should be.
    • You can tell if you did not need to enter a password to get on osuwireless and stay on wireless after a password change.
  • On the ASC VPN.

It is important to sync passwords soon after the change. This procedure will also sync an la account password and renew a Windows license for six months.

Procedure

PLEASE NOTE: If you're on-campus and connected to the network via Wi-Fi (osuwireless) or ethernet (wired), please skip to STEP 3.
