How to Change Your OSU Password and Sync it with your COP Laptop

Tags password
SUMMARY
Your College of Pharmacy domain account is used to login to your COP laptop. This password can be kept in sync with your university password.

You will always change your university password first at https://my.osu.edu. There are two options you can follow, depending on whether you are on-site at the college or working away from your office.

Option 1 (On-Site)

This option is for those who have plugged their laptop into the COP network in the past.

  1. Plug the laptop into the COP network using your network cable or docking station.
  2. If you are not logged into Windows, then login using your new university password. If this option fails, then follow Option 2 below.
  3. If you are already logged into Windows, then press the Windows key + L to lock your screen
  4. Press CTRL + ALT + DEL and login using your new university password.

Option 2 (Remote/Wi-Fi)

This option is for those who do not plug their laptop into the COP network (typically because they work remotely or if the laptop is a secondary device).

  1. Change your university password at https://my.osu.edu.
  2. Login to your COP laptop using your “old” password.
  3. Connect to the SonicWall NetExtender VPN client using your “new” university password.
  4. Once connected, press the Windows key + L to lock your screen.
  5. Press CTRL + ALT + DEL and login using your new university password.
  6. Your “new” password is now synchronized to the COP laptop.
