Connect to Wireless on Campus

SUMMARY
Ohio State provides several wireless networks for employees, students, guests, and devices.

Wireless networking on campus is a service supported by the Office of Technology and Digital Innovation (OTDI). Pharmacy Technology Services will assist users in connecting their university devices to the appropriate network. Support for personal devices may be limited and thus routed to the OTDI BuckeyeBar.

Available Wireless Networks

There are four different wireless networks available on campus:

eduroam - the new primary network (as of Autumn 2023) for employees and students. eduroam is a network that is supported at universities worldwide, which makes connecting seamless when travelling to other institutions. It is also certificate-based, which means users no longer need to reconnect their devices after a password change. Read more about the transition to eduroam and review the eduroam job aids for instructions.

OSUWireless - this network is currently being phased out. Although it is still available until Summer 2024, faculty, staff, and students should to transition their devices to eduroam.

Registered4OSU - devices that cannot authenticate to OSUWireless or eduroam can be registered to connect to Registered4OSU. Examples would include wireless temperature monitors, smart collaboration boards, smart TV's, and gaming systems.

WiFi@OSU - the network for guests and visitors. It can also be used by employees and students to connect and obtain the OSUWireless or eduroam connection utilities.
