SUMMARY
Ohio State provides several wireless networks for employees, students, guests, and devices.
Wireless networking on campus is a service supported by the Office of Technology and Digital Innovation (OTDI). Pharmacy Technology Services will assist users in connecting their university devices to the appropriate network. Support for personal devices may be limited and thus routed to the OTDI BuckeyeBar.
Available Wireless Networks
There are three different wireless networks available on campus:
eduroam - the primary network for employees and students. eduroam is a network that is supported at universities worldwide, which makes connecting seamless when travelling to other institutions. It is also certificate-based, which means users no longer need to reconnect their devices after a password change. Read more about the transition to eduroam and review the eduroam job aids for instructions.
Registered4OSU - devices that cannot authenticate to OSUWireless or eduroam can be registered to connect to Registered4OSU. Examples would include wireless temperature monitors, smart collaboration boards, smart TV's, and gaming systems.
WiFi@OSU - the network for guests and visitors. It can also be used by employees and students to connect and obtain the OSUWireless or eduroam connection utilities.
OSUWireless has been phased out as of July 2024. It is recommended to transition your device to eduroam.
