How to Draw in Word, PowerPoint, and Zoom Using the COP Classroom Touch Screens

Summary

COP classrooms are equipped with touch screens on the podiums to allow for drawing and annotation.

Classroom Pool rooms are not equipped with touch screens (PK 103, 107, 111, 157, 257)

 

Find the Drawing Tools in Word and PowerPoint

Go to the Review tab and select Start Inking to display the Pens tab.

Write or Draw

  1. Under Ink Tools > Pens choose Pen.

  1. Tap on the desired ink color and stroke width.

  1. On the touch screen, use the stylus to begin writing or drawing.

Highlight Text (WORD ONLY)

  1. Under Ink Tools, on the Pens tab, click Highlighter, and then pick a highlight color.

  1. Point and drag your stylus over the text that you want to highlight.

 

Delete Whole Written Words or Drawings

  1. Under Ink Tools, on the Pens tab, click the arrow below Eraser, and then pick an eraser size.

  1. With your stylus, select the word or ink drawing that you want to erase.

 

Delete Parts of a Drawing or Parts of Written Words (POWERPOINT ONLY)

  1. Under Ink Tools, on the Pens tab, click the arrow below Eraser, and then pick an eraser size.

  1. With your stylus, select parts of the ink drawing or text that you want to erase.

 

Draw or Annotate in PowerPoint Slide Show Mode

  1. In Slide Show mode, tap the tip of the stylus near the right edge of the screen. A column of circular icons will appear.
  2. Tap the circular icon with the pen inside it. A drawing menu will appear.

  1. Choose the desired function (Laser Pointer, Pen, or Highlighter) and color.
  2. Use the stylus to draw on the slides.
  3. When exiting Slide Show mode, choose to Keep or Discard annotations.

Draw or Annotate in Zoom Meetings

  1. Start a Zoom Meeting.
  2. Click the green Share Screen icon.
  3. Choose Whiteboard and click Share.

  1. The annotation menu will appear.

  1. Click the Draw icon to access pen, highlighter, and shape functions.
  2. Click the Format icon to change the color.
