CarmenCanvas Discussion Redesign UI and Functionality Updates

The discussion tool in CarmenCanvas has been redesigned and has now been enabled in all courses. No migration is necessary with this update. There is no loss of functionality between the old and new versions of the discussion tool (including the ability for students and instructors to post a reply using EchoVideo), and the redesign features the following UI and functionality updates:

• The option to have a partial or fully anonymous discussion:

• “View history” feature allows instructors to track the versions of student responses:

• Improved searching options with highlighting
• Sorting options (newest to oldest, oldest to newest)
• Filtering options (All, Unread, Read)
• Split screen and inline viewing options
• Opportunity to quote previous replies
• Ability to mention instructors and students directly using the @ symbol
• Ability to report a reply as “Inappropriate”, “Offensive, abusive”, or “Other”
