SUMMARY
Changes to Teams calling device compatibility as of March 14, 2024.

Effective March 14, 2024, the USB-connected Poly CX300 USB telephone will be able to send and receive audio calls, however call actions such as dialing, answering, and hanging up will need to be performed through the Microsoft Teams software on your computer.

Impacted Devices

The only device impacted by this change is the Poly CX300 USB-connected phone. It is the most commonly-deployed telephone-style audio device, however usage has declined over the last couple years. It can be identified by the following photo:

Non-Impacted Devices

All other audio devices that are used to make and receive calls are not impacted by this change. If you currently use a headset, headphones, webcam, computer speakers, or any other audio device, this change should not affect you.

How to Make and Receive Calls

From within the Microsoft Teams client on your computer, click the Calls icon in the left-side menu to access the dial pad, call history, and other calling features. To answer a call, click the notification that will appear in the lower-right corner o your screen when a call is received. Complete instructions can be found at the following link: Get to know the calling experience in Microsoft Teams.
