Accessing Computers Remotely

To a Windows Machine on Campus

• Remoting into Windows with Guacamole
• Using Gateway for Windows Remote Desktop
• Remoting into Windows with VPN and Remote Desktop (Guacamole is preferred.)

To a Macintosh on Campus

• Most Macintosh uses who do remote in use SSH, which falls under Linux.

To a Linux Machine on Campus

Accessing Files Remotely

There are many ways to access files remotely, including Box, Office365, SFTP which can be more efficient than connecting to Windows shared drvies over the VPN.

• Directly connecting to ASC Windows shares:

  • Connecting to ASC Shared Drives from Windows
  • Connecting to ASC Shared Drives from a Mac
• CrashPlan, if your work desktop is in CrashPlan, you can restore current versions of files:
