Connecting with SonicWall NetExtender and Remote Desktop

Running SonicWall NetExtender

1. Open the SonicWALL NetExtender Application
   • This can be done from the start menu, or clicking on the NetExtender icon on the desktop.
   • If you need to install this, you can find it here: https://www.sonicwall.com/products/remote-access/vpn-clients/

1. Enter the following settings to connect:

• Server: portal.pharmacy.ohio-state.edu
• Username: (Name.#)
• Password: (OSU Password)
• Domain: pharmacy-secure
  • This must be all lowercase letters

1. A DUO Authentication prompt will be sent to the default device you chose previously (app, text, call, etc.)

• Accept the authentication prompt to proceed

1. A message will appear on screen to confirm successful connection via NetExtender

• Be sure to disconnect the session when finished working.

Connecting to Remote Desktop

1. From the start menu, search for “Remote Desktop Connection” and click to start the application.
2. A new window will appear allowing you to enter the hostname of your PC
   • This is typically stickered in red on the top of your desktop. If you need help finding this, please contact the IT department at go.osu.edu/pharmacyit.
3. Select “connect” or hit enter.
4. A prompt will appear asking for your login credentials.
   • username = pharmacy\name.#
   • password = OSU password
