Overview
National Instruments LabVIEW is a graphical programming environment that provides unique productivity accelerators for test system development, such as an intuitive approach to programming, connectivity to any instrument, not just NI instruments.
The College of Engineering (CoE) hosts a LabVIEW network license server that can be accessed by ASC faculty, staff, and students on OSU-managed systems.
Procedure for Using the CoE License Server
Use the following steps to set up LabVIEW to reference the CoE LabVIEW network license server. Local administrative rights are required, and an ASCTech staff member can help if you do not have administrative rights.
- Install LabVIEW.
- NI requires an account creation to download the installer.
- There are multiple product selections during installation, and it is left to the reader to decide what is correct for their needs.
- Activation of LabVIEW is not necessary when using a network license server.
- Exit the installer when prompted to activate.
- Launch the "NI License Manager".
- Choose "Network Licenses" and enter the following: licenseserv12.coeit.osu.edu:27010, licenseserv13.coeit.osu.edu:27010, licenseserv14.coeit.osu.edu:27010
- You will see a summary of licensed products available.
- You can now exit the "NI License Manager" and launch "NI LabVIEW..."
