Web Hosting Resources

OTDI and ASCTech offer many different services that get content on the web.

go.osu.edu

go.osu.edu is a URL shortening service. While technically not a hosting platform, shortened URLs are permanent, convenient redirects. A statistics page tracks visits, unique visitors and hits.

u.osu.edu

u.osu.edu is OSU's WordPress offering. It is suitable as both a blogging platform and for a static personal site. It is a modern content management solution with editing delegation functionality. While more restricted than a full WordPress site, it does offer five themes and easy editing. u.osu.edu should suffice for the majority of users.

Qualtrics

Qualtrics is survey software, which can be used for surveys or votes.

Teams / OneDrive

ASCTech Web Services Standard Sites (Drupal sites)

ASCTech can set up a Drupal site, create content, and delegate management. This is ideal for department, program or center sites. Other types of sites will have a consultation with Web Services to determine what service fits the need.

ASCTech can also assist with conference payment sites, including with the external canned event site vendor, CVENT.

ASCTech Web Hosting Service ("WWW" or "Tri-Dub")

This is analogous to the ~ directories that were used for personal and research sites on many departmental web servers. Redirection from legacy ~ URLs is available.

The platform has HTML, PHP, MySQL (with an optional web management interface), Shibboleth authentication, WordPress, and MediaWiki capabilities.
