SUMMARY
How to use the audio-visual technology in the PK 200 classroom

The Parks 200 classroom is equipped with two large displays in the front of the room, two large displays in the rear of the room, an auto-tracking pan-tilt-zoom camera, ceiling microphone and speakers, and a PC with dual touch screen displays. A Crestron touch panel controls the audio-visual components.

1. Start the System

On the Crestron panel, tap Begin.

Input Selection

Choose from the following options:

  • PC-L
  • PC-R
    • This is the right display attached to the podium PC.
  • HDMI
    • An HDMI cable is available on the podium for an external device such as a laptop. Keep in mind that using the HDMI connection will not allow for the room camera or microphone to be used, as they are only connected to the podium PC.

Output Selection

The four outputs are the front displays (Front L and Front R) and rear displays (Rear L and Rear R). To change what is shown on any of the displays, simply tap on the desired input, then tap on the desired output. For example, to make the left podium display appear on the front left display, tap PC-L, then tap Front L.

The currently-selected inputs are listed below each of the outputs.

Audio Controls

The Speaker Volume at the top of the panel will control the level of audio coming from the ceiling speakers. The Speaker Mute icon at the bottom will mute the speakers. The Audio Select indicator will control which audio source is being sent through the speakers.

The microphone is in the ceiling. The volume is automatically set. It may be muted by tapping the Mic Mute button. The ceiling microphones also have a visual status indicator on them (green light: on; red light: muted).

Display Power

The front and rear displays can be powered on or off separately.

3. Camera Control

The camera auto-tracking feature will automatically position the camera towards the active speaker. This is best used to track a presenter at the front of the room rather than participants in the audience. Auto-tracking may be enabled or disabled by choosing Tracking On or Tracking Off. The blue highlight indicates the current tracking status.

Zoom and Pan/Tilt controls are available to set the camera position manually. Up to four Presets can be set. Press and hold on any of the presets to set a new position.
