Zoom Meeting Ending After 40 Minutes

Overview

Recently an issue has been discovered where a Zoom meeting scheduled for a length of over 40 minutes is ending at the 40 minute mark.

This is due to a user having had a free Zoom account prior to the OSU site license. Fortunately, there is an easy solution for this!  Please follow the steps below. 

Fix

 

  • Log out of the Zoom desktop client 
  • Open an incognito window in your web browser (In Chrome, this is in the File menu.) 
  • Navigate to  http://carmenzoom.osu.edu 
  • Click Sign In and log in with your Ohio State credentials. 
  • You will be asked if you want to switch to Ohio State’s license. Click yes to this and any subsequent agreements.
