Extended Reality (XR) Field Trips

Service Description:

Extended Reality (XR) Field Trips aim to integrate immersive experiences by utilizing Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and other emerging technologies into curricula in a way that will provide an enhanced educational experience for students and instructors alike.

Eligibility: 

This service is available to units within the College of Arts and Sciences.

Standard Availability:

By appointment.

What Is Included: 

• Consultation - ASCTech will meet with you to determine if virtual reality fits and enhances the course material. Upon request, we will research software applicable to your subject and make suggestions as to what programs we feel will enhance the course.
• Administration- ASCTech will provide the equipment to run the software. We will also provide a room of adequate size for use of the equipment.
• Customization- ASCTech will by special request work to host sessions in a location of your choosing as long as the space is sufficient enough for the equipment to be used safely.
• ASCTech will work to find the best software and space for the needs of your course. We will also make ourselves available for hours that fit your course schedule.

Cost: 

No cost, excluding the purchase of certain software.
